Director / Producer / Editor / Cinematographer
I have been making films since I was a kid. Borrowing my dad's camcorder and utilizing all my siblings to recreate the latest blockbuster that inspired me at the time or document the family vacation. Professionally, I have been making movies for 20 years. Editing my first feature at 18 years old called "Cowboy Junction". I dare you to look it up.
Every job I had growing up I incorporated filmmaking into it. I used to make fake commercials for this boba tea house I worked at just for fun. When I worked at the Apple Store I made a short documentary about my coworkers, again, just for fun. Each video I made taught me something.
My career really took off in San Francisco. After graduating SFSU I eventually landed a job running an in-house video production team for a startup called Creativebug. I shot and edited everyday for almost 6 years. Since then I have been freelance producing and directing commercials, music videos, documentaries, short films, and web series.
Hey there! I'm Brian, but most folks call me Emerick. I'm an award-winning Los Angeles based filmmaker. My work has been mentioned in The Huffington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Queerty, Salon, and the latest documentary I shot, "A Sexplanation", was Critics' Pick in The New York Times.
I have directed ads for Tonal, Rollworks, The NFL, and Youtube. My short film, "Tunnel", was an official selection for The Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival.
